Crossing over

 

‘But the Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you.’

(Deuteronomy 31:3 NLT)

 

Recently I feel as though I have crossed over from a ‘Wilderness Land’ into a ‘New Land’.

The old is behind me; new stretches ahead of me.

I’m beginning to explore this unknown ‘New Land’. I really don’t know what it holds,

what may be here, what opportunities or adventures may unfold.

My hope is that it will hold good experiences which will keep my faith in Jesus Christ

strong and growing, as I love, follow and serve Him.

Part of me is excited and eager; another part of me is anxious and fearful. God reassures me:

“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them.

For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you.

He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

(Deuteronomy 31:6 NLT)

 

As you cross over into a New Year you may have a mixture of hopes and emotions.

Be reassured and encouraged that God has crossed over ahead of you.

He has promised to neither fail you nor abandon you;

So whatever this year holds and however it may unfold, He will be with you.

 

Prayer:  Father God, as I cross over into a New Year I thank you that You have gone ahead of me.

As we journey together into the unknown please help me to be strong and courageous. Amen
