Short Thought continued.....

Made Ready

‘When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.’

(James 1:2-3 NLT)

God has been making me ‘ready’ for a new season.

He called me on a journey of moving on from the past, through a ‘void’ of waiting

and into an awakening and equipping for His plans and purposes.

It’s been an amazing and tough journey.

Joseph’s biblical story of journeying with God has particularly guided and encouraged me.

As a younger man God gave Joseph dreams and interpretations that he didn’t share wisely;

his immature arrogance brought strife and conflict to his family.

His brothers sold him into slavery and told their father he was dead.

Joseph had to move on from his past.

Amazingly he became Potiphar’s personal attendant;

but when wrongly accused of sexual assault was imprisoned.

Whilst in this place of ‘void’ and waiting on God,

Joseph’s faith was tested, his character matured and

his endurance given a chance to grow. He was humbled before God.

Years later, Joseph was remembered as an interpreter of dreams,

this brought about his release from prison;

for God knew he was ready for a new season as Governor of Egypt

and as a forgiving brother who cared for his family.

Through troubles of many kind Joseph travelled on his journey of being ‘made ready’,

throughout ‘The Lord was with Joseph.’ (Genesis 39:2 & 21 NLT)

The journey God takes us on as He makes us ready to

humbly fulfill His plans and purposes can be both amazing but, at times, tough.

We’re not ‘made ready’ instantly.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being with me and growing me through life’s experiences,

even the tough ones.

Thought: How are you being ‘made ready’?
