Short Thought continued.....

God’s Distributors

‘His disciples replied,

“How are we supposed to find enough food to feed them out here in the wilderness?”’

(Mark 8:4 NLT)

This is the disciple’s response to Jesus’ suggestion that they feed 4000 people.

It’s not surprising that they were overwhelmed and perplexed.

Looking at the situation through human eyes they saw no plausible solution.

‘Jesus asked, “How much bread do you have?”  “Seven loaves,” they replied.

So Jesus told all the people to sit down on the ground.

Then he took the seven loaves, thanked God for them, and broke them into pieces.

He gave them to his disciples, who distributed the bread to the crowd.

A few small fish were found, too, so Jesus also blessed these

and told the disciples to distribute them.’

(Mark 8:5-7 NLT)

Jesus responded differently: He looked for what had already been provided,

gave thanks for it, blessed it and gave it away to those who were in need.

The disciples became distributors of God’s blessing.

We can look at difficult challenges set before us, be overwhelmed and perplexed,

and through our human eyes see no plausible solution.

Or, like Jesus, we can look at what can be accomplished and achieved through God.

We can look at what He has provided; give thanks for this and ask Him to bless it.

God’s blessings are to go beyond us to reach others.

We can become distributors of God’s blessings.

Prayer:  Father God, I choose to look to You.  Please show me what ‘loaves’ You have already

provided and how You want to multiple these and who they will best feed, nourish and bless.  Amen.

Thought:  What ‘loaves’ has God provided me with?

How is He telling me to distribute these to those who are in need?
